How does kapitalfluss work?

kapitalfluss is a specialized SaaS application that extracts data from PDF credit card statements using Artificial Intelligence. The system recognizes transactions, amounts, and currencies and prepares them for export into accounting software.

Where is my data processed?

Security and data sovereignty are our top priorities. All technical processing takes place exclusively in Switzerland:

  • AI Analysis: Microsoft Azure in the Switzerland North (Zurich) region.
  • Hosting & Database: Google Cloud in the europe-west6 (Zurich) region.

Thanks to our Zero-Storage architecture, we ensure that your data is never permanently stored. We process your documents exclusively in volatile memory (RAM). As soon as you close the browser tab or end the session, your data disappears irrevocably from our servers. Nothing is ever stored in a database.

Can I close my browser tab and continue later?

Yes, but with specific security measures in place. We utilize a Zero-Trace architecture on our servers. When you process a document, the results stay in your browser as an encrypted data blob (Local Storage). Our server discards the PDF file immediately after processing from volatile memory (RAM). You can continue the session as long as you do not clear your browser storage and possess the decryption key.

Data Security & AI


How does kapitalfluss differ from general-purpose AI assistants?

Unlike public AI chatbots, kapitalfluss is a closed professional application:

  1. Enterprise Privacy: We use Azure OpenAI with contractual guarantees that data stays in Switzerland and is not used for model training.
  2. Financial Validation: Our engine checks every extracted digit for logical consistency (e.g., sum checks) to prevent “hallucinations.”
  3. Privacy by Design: We do not store PDFs permanently. What doesn’t exist cannot be breached.

Is my data used to improve AI models?

No. By using Microsoft Azure Enterprise services in the Zurich data center, it is contractually excluded that your uploaded data or extracted information is used for training models (neither for us nor for third parties).

Is kapitalfluss compliant with the Swiss Data Protection Act (nFADP)?

Yes. As a Swiss provider (Greulich Digital Labs), we comply with the requirements of the nFADP. We minimize data storage to the absolute minimum (account metadata) and process sensitive documents transiently in RAM.

Precision & Costs


How accurate is the extracted data?

While our AI achieves extremely high accuracy, it is a probabilistic technology. According to our Terms of Use, you as the user are obligated to verify the accuracy and completeness of the extracted data before further use (e.g., importing into bexio).

Do I have to pay if the extraction fails?

No. A credit is only consumed when you successfully “unlock” a document. If the extraction fails for technical reasons, no credits are deducted from your balance.

What happens if I am dissatisfied with a result?

We offer a 100% money-back guarantee if a technical error occurs (e.g., the document could not be read despite high quality). In such cases, please contact our support at support@kapitalfluss.ch.

Integrations & Fiduciaries


Does kapitalfluss offer a direct connection to bexio?

Currently, we offer a formatted Bexio CSV Export (Journal Import). However, we are already working on a direct API interface as well as automated account mapping that will assign transactions directly to your bookkeeping accounts.

Is kapitalfluss suitable for fiduciaries?

Yes. kapitalfluss was developed to reduce manual data entry in fiduciary offices without endangering professional secrecy. Through local processing in Zurich and our zero-trace policy, we meet the highest standards of confidentiality.

Do you provide a Data Processing Agreement (DPA/AVV)?

Yes. We offer a standard DPA for companies and professional users. This legally confirms the processing location in Switzerland and our security measures. We also provide this agreement to sole proprietors who need to demonstrate full compliance for their clients.
